Your Provence tour will begin with a stop in the town of Orange. The Roman history in Orange includes a Roman Triumphal Arch and Theater, the best preserved theater of the Roman Empire, thanks to the stage wall.
Chateauneuf du Pape will be your second stop in the Provence tour. In Chateauneuf, you will tour the vineyards and discover the wide range of wines in this most famous area of vineyards.
Then, you will continue to St. Remy de Provence. Near Saint Remy de Provence are the Roman Triumphal Arch and landscape painted by Vincent Van Gogh.
Les Baux de Provence will be the next destination. It's a very historic perched village in the Alpilles Mountains and its setting is amazing. Les Baux has a museum of santons and a beautiful house from the 16th century called the Hotel des Porcelets. The St. Vincent Church is a Romanesque style architecture, so very noteworthy. (Les Baux also has the best shopping of the day!)
Then you will be off to Arles to do a walking tour to see the Roman Arena and Theater. Van Gogh lived and painted in Arles and you will see where he painted La Maison Jaune, Le Cafe, La Nuit, and Le Jardin de l'Hotel Dieu.
At the end of the day, your driver will return you to your Avignon hotel.
Note: Orange market is on Thursday. Arles market is Saturday
