Olive Groves near Les Baux de ProvenceYour Provence tour will stop in Les Baux de Provence. Les Baux is one of the Most Beautiful Villages of France. Situated in Les Alpilles olive country, Les Baux is where you will do an olive-tasting.The olive groves in this area of Provence produce olive oil, cracked olives, and black olives entitled to the AOC label. It is the subtle blend of these varieties, a secret carefully guarded by each producer, that gives the oils a whole palette of different flavors.

Not far from Les Baux de Provence, you will do wine-tasting in an estate at the foot of the Alpilles range of mountains. The wines of Les Baux are definied by the unique, multi-faceted character of the soil, naturally protected and dried by the mistral wind. The Baux de Provence wines have been officially recognized since 1995 by a "Registered Designation of Orgin" (Appellation d'Origine Controlee or AOC). Today, AOC Les Baux de Provence wines are unusal in that the grapes are grown using organic or biodynamic methods over 85% of their geographical area.

Next visit will be the town of Nimes. Nimes has a Roman history and your tour will take you to the amphitheater, Augustus Gate, the Castellum, and the the Maison Caree (which means Square House). The Maison Caree is one of the best preserved temples in the Roman world.

UzesContinuing the Provence tour, Uzes will be the next stop. The medieval town of Uzes is set in a mediterranean vegetation. With a history as ducal, a bishopric, and consular seats, Uzes has preserved its layout as a medieval stronghold, embellished in the 17th and 18th centuries. Your tour will take you to see the Place aux Herbes (a picturesque square), the Cathedral, and the Fenestrelle Tower (a unique belltower).

Close to Uzes is the Roman Pont du Gard, the aqueduct from the 1st Century A.D which brough spring water to the city of Nimes.

After the visit to the Pont du Gard, the driver will return you to your hotel in Avignon.
