Experience ANZAC day with a special tour for the sunrise service in Villers-Bretonneux on Wednesday, April 25, 2012 to mark the major military action of the joint forces of Australia and New Zealand.

Join us for a day of remembrance. The departure from Paris will be in the early hours to travel to Villers-Bretonneux to attend the ANZAC Day Dawn Service. In this small town on August 24-25, 1919, the tank battle between the British and Germans was costly in the loss of more than 1200 Australian lives. The town was taken back from the Germans and the dawn ceremony commemorates this battle with the citizens of Villers-Bretonneux expressing their appreciation for this sacrifice 94 years ago.

Following the service, the tour will continue to discover the Somme area.  The Somme area suffered severely in the violent and bloody battles of the Great War (WWI).

It was a dramatic period of history and there is much to see in the Somme Battlefields with major sites, memorials, cemeteries, and traces of battles. We will visit Villers Bretonneux, Victoria School at Villers-Bretonneux, Franco-Australian Museum, Adelaide Cemetery, the Lochnagar Crater at La Boiselle, Poziere, Thiepval, Mont Saint Quentin in Peronne and many other sites of interest as time permits.

The tour will depart at 2:30 AM and return to Paris at 3:30 PM.

Two pickup locations:

1.  Hotel la Demeure (Left Bank), 51 boulevard Saint Marcel, 75013 Paris

2.  Opera Garnier steps (Right Bank)

Experience a very memorable day on April 25, 2012.
