King's Room at Chateau Vaux le Vicomte Your evening to Vaux-le-Vicomte will take you to a magical castle that is located south of Paris.

Vaux-le-Vicomte is a masterpiece of the 17th century built by Nicolas Fouquet who was the Finance Minister of Louis XIV. Monsieur Fouquet hired Louis Le Vau as the architect, Andre Le Notre as the landscape architect, and Charles Le Brun as the painter. So impressive was the finished product that King Louis XIV was inspired to build the Versailles Palace (after first enlisting the services of  Le Notre, Le Brun, and Le Vau -- having already imprisoned Monsieur Fouquet!).

Your evening will begin with a visit of the carriage museum retracing horse drawn transport from Roman chariots to the beginning of the 20th century.

Your Vaux-le-Vicomte evening then will continue with dinner in L’Ecureuil restaurant in the converted stable block.

At sunset, you will visit the Château (audio guide provided) to see the King's room, the library, and other beautiful salons. As well, you'll not want to miss the gardens that are lit by 2000 candles. To listen to the classical music as you soak up the atmosphere of this magical castle will be an unforgettable evening. New this year are the fireworks in the gardens...will be amazing.

Your evening at Vaux-le-Vicomte will end with a return to your Paris hotel or apartment.
