Giverny and Versailles Private Tour PTF07

Lily Pond and Boats in Giverny

Take a private tour to Giverny and Versailles. Your private Giverny tour will begin with a Paris hotel or apartment pickup. First stop is Giverny to visit Monet's home and gardens.

The Giverny Japanese bridge and water lilies were subjects of so many of Claude Monet's paintings. Monet lived in the house from 1883 until he died in 1926 and though he never traveled to Japan, the house is full of Japanese woodblock prints.

If you would like, visit the Giverny Museum of Impressionism.

Next stop is the Palace of Versailles. Your tour guide will take you into Versailles to tour the Royal Apartments, Hall of Mirrors, and the gardens.

The town of Versailles is a wealthy suburb 11 miles Southwest of Paris and the Chateau de Versailles dominates the town.

The Palace of Versailles was the capital of the kingdom of France from 1682 to 1789 (when the French Revolution began) and as such holds an amazing amount of history with the Royal courts of King Louis XIII, his son Louis XIV, the "Sun King", Louis XV, and Louis XVI. Stripped of its furniture and ornaments during the French Revolution, it was abandoned until 1830 when King Louis-Philippe transformed it into a National Museum.

Touring the Palace, you'll see the Royal Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors, the Hall of Battles, and you should be able to enjoy some time strolling in the gardens of Versailles.  Designed by Andre Le Notre, the classic French Garden style was perfected here.

This private tour day is rich with history, architecture, beautiful French gardens, and picturesque countryside.

Your private Giverny and Versailles tour will end with a return to your Paris hotel or apartment.
