The day continues to Rouffignac Cave that actually has authentic engravings dating back to the late Magdalenian period (17,000-12,000 years ago).

The final visit is to Lascaux II. a perfect reproduction of the original cave (public visits of the original caves are not permitted). First discovered in 1940,  the public cave visits to the original Lascaux were stopped in 1963 because of the damage that human breath was doing to the paintings. The replica is truly a thrill, too.
