Medoc Wine Tour and Bordeaux

BordeauxYou'll be picked up at your cruise ship in Le Verdon and drive to Bordeaux to see this historic city. During the panoramic tour of Bordeaux, the guide will show you some of the famous landmarks in Bordeaux including Esplanade des Quinconces, Colonnes des Girondins, Grand Théâtre, Allées de Tourny, Cours de l'Intendance, Pont de Pierre, Saint-André Cathedral, and Tour Pey Berland (1440–1450). Bordeaux is classified as a "City of Art and History" and has many architectural treasures to see.

In the afternoon, you'll visit the Medoc region. For the Medoc wine tour, you will do visit two Classified growth or Cru Bourgeois estates that have been carefully selected for their exceptional setting and quality of wine. During these visits you will learn all there is to know about the history of the estates, the wine making process, and the techniques used during the wine making.

Two Days in Le Verdon

St. EmilionIf your cruise ship will be docking in Le Verdon for two days, let A Paris Travel arrange your tours for both days.

You will be picked up at the ship in Le Verdon on the first day to enjoy the Medoc region. You will  visit two Classified growth or Cru Bourgeois estates that have been carefully selected for their exceptional setting and quality of wine. During these visits you will learn all there is to know about the history of the estates, the wine making process, and the techniques used during the wine making. The visits will be followed by a wine tasting session.

Then you will stay the night in Bordeaux. (We can make your hotel reservations.)

The guide will pick you up the next morning at your Bordeaux hotel to do a St. Emilion wine tour.  Named after a monk Emilion, the town of Saint Emilion is located about 45 minutes east of Bordeaux. Saint Emilion's history goes back to prehistoric times and the town is charming with its steep and narrow streets and has Romanesque churches along with ancient ruins. The primary grape varieties used in Saint Emilion wines are the Merlot and Cabernet France, along with small amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon. During this day, you'll be able to do two lovely winery visits followed by tasting. 

The driver will then take you back to the cruise ship in Le Verdon.

If you instead wish to do St. Emilion in the afternoon, you'll drive to St. Emilion (about 45 minutes from Bordeaux) to do guided walking tour of the picturesque town. You'll also have some free time to wander and shop on your own and can participate in a free wine tasting session in the village.

The day will end with a visit and wine tasting session in a classified growth of the Saint Emilion appellation before your return to your Bordeaux cruise ship.

Graves and Sauternes Wine Tour

Sauternes WineYou will be picked up at your Bordeaux cruise ship for this 8 hour tour. The tour will include a discovery of the Pessac Léognan appellation to enjoy the visit and wine tasting in two chateaux including a classified growth. After some free time for lunch, you will head towards the Sauternes region and after a drive through the vineyards and beautiful landscape of the area, you will do a visit and wine tasting session in a classified growth of the Sauternes or Barsac appellations.

You'll return to your Bordeaux cruise ship at the end of the day.
