Giverny and Versailles Private Tour PTF07

Lily Pond and Boats in Giverny

Take a private tour to Giverny and Versailles.

Your private Giverny tour will begin with a Paris hotel or apartment pickup. First stop will be Giverny to visit Monet's home and gardens.

Giverny GardensStrolling the gardens of Giverny, you will discover they are divided into flowerbeds rich with colors, textures, and flower varieties of such exquisite beauty. The Lily Pond seen in Monet's paintings is special to see. His water garden was formed by a tributary to the Epte River and as you would expect, there are green painted foot bridges and a row boat also painted by Monet. Monet lived in the house from 1883 until he died in 1926 and though he never traveled to Japan, the house is full of Japanese woodblock prints.

If you would like, you can visit the Giverny Museum of Impressionism.

Versailles PalaceNext stop will be Versailles. The town of Versailles is a wealthy suburb 11 miles Southwest of Paris and the Chateau de Versailles dominates the town. The Palace of Versailles was the capital of the kingdom of France from 1682 to 1789 (when the French Revolution began) and as such holds an amazing amount of history with the Royal courts of King Louis XIII, his son Louis XIV, the "Sun King", Louis XV, and Louis XVI. Stripped of its furniture and ornaments during the French Revolution, it was abandoned until 1830 when King Louis-Philippe transformed it into a National Museum.Your tour guide will take you to the Royal Apartments, the Hall of Mirrors, and Versailles Hall of Battles.

You will want to allow time for strolling the gardens of Versailles.  Designed by Andre Le Notre, the classic French Garden style was perfected there.

This private tour day is rich with history, architecture, beautiful French gardens, and picturesque countryside.

Your private Giverny and Versailles tour will end with a return to your Paris hotel or apartment.
